How do I open the safe with the Override Keys?

Two Override Keys are supplied with each safe. To use the keys, simply remove the magnetic “Vecta” badge from the front of the safe, insert the key and turn it clockwise to draw the locking bolts back and open the safe. The safe can only be relocked electronically, using the one-touch locking button in the bottom left of the keypad.

Can I use the override keys to open and lock the safe?

No. The override keys can be used to open the safe, by turning the key clockwise to retract the locking bolts. However, the safe can only be relocked using the one-touch locking button in the bottom left of the keypad.

How long will the batteries last?

This depends on the number of times the safe is used. Under normal use we would expect the batteries to last up to 2 years.

How will I know when the batteries need changing?

If the batteries on the Vecta Personal Safe are low and need replacing, the LCD will flash “Lo-batt” when the safe is Closed. We advise that the batteries are changed as soon as this message appears. If the batteries run out the safe can still be opened using one of the 2 override keys supplied. However, the safe can only be re-locked electronically.

What type of batteries does the safe use?

The Vecta Personal Safe uses 4 x AA alkaline batteries. These are supplied with each new Vecta Personal Safe.
